I noticed you wasted no time getting those instructions and other paper stuff out of the way to see that beautiful wood. The fuse looks a tad larger than the Thermic's fuse. I like that extra room. Those wings are a thing of beauty....

The days work, not much, Also rc club flying day.

Yes Black S, the fuselage is around 15 cm longer than the Thermic, and much more room in the front.
I think I will use a 3 cell 850 mha lipo.

Regards

Even if it seems that you're in the speed-mode on this one, SDen.

Oooh. I've eyed this one hard recently. I'm glad to see Art Hobby planes get more exposure here of late, and especially this one

I'm using a 750mAh 3S lipo in my Thermic and it barely fits but I can fly all weekend on it. I may not wait til Arthobby has another Thermic available and just go bigger. I like what I see so far.

Today I made the 4 holes in the wing for the servos, and glued the center wing joyning with fiberglass.
Fit the servos in the fuselage and made the towcoupling, and mounted the tail boom and rudder.
And put on the horns, and made holes in the backend for the bowden cabel.

Yesterday I tryed the trick to spray the wing with 1/1 alcohol and water, this raises the wood and after a little sanding the wing is realy smooth, and ready for cellolose lak.

Is there any particular reason you put the tow poin on the side of the nose? Or do you have one on each side? I can only recall seeing them on the very front of the nose before...

1 You dont feel it is on the side of the fuselage when towing.
2 You do not have to drill through the cg lead to make room for a nose coupling.
3 This type does not require much force to release.
5 Easy to make.
6 you could put it at the bottom, but then you must turn the glider upside down every time you engage.
7 It is much easier to connect to the line, than a normal nose coupling.
8. this will fit even in a small glider.
9. Cheap.

I have more than 40 gliders, only 2 with coupling in the nose.

Cheers

Take a look at Speedster's video of his Thermic being towed with the tow hook on the side. It works very well and I couldn't see any adverse affects of it done that way. A pretty slick idea if you ask me.
