Help!
Need someone to make a silicone plastic mold or vacuum form

Hey guys not sure where to post this, but I'm looking to get 2 pieces molded in clear plastic. I know some of you guys make your own pieces so I figured this might be a good place to ask. I'm actully looking to get head lights molded for a car. They are about 10in x 6in rectangular. I would prefer a plastic (silicone mold) which i can use to make reproductions at any time but would settle for some vacuum formed ones as well. If you can help me out or point me to a source that can make me a silicone mold or vacuum for I would appreciate it!

Thanks
Rick

You might try the Composites Fabrication forum, http://www.rcgroups.com/composites-fabrication-210/
They do a lot of unique stuff.

Hi Rick,
for a vacuum molded piece, assuming you have a plug made, I would send an email to Keith Sparks at Park Flyer Plastics. I've used him for custom work before after beating myself in the head for a couple of months on a part that had me stumped. Keith produced the piece quickly and at a price that was surprisingly reasonable. Contact Keith at info@parkflyerplastics.com or parkflyerplastics@att.net.

You could certainly learn every thing you needed to mold your own plastic with a silcone mold by watching Steve Neill's Garage. Not too long ago he was working with some clear casting resin that he was pleased with the results from when casting clear parts not unlike headlights. Heck, if it's important enough to you and you have the bucks to spend you could even contact Steve about making the parts for you. It'll cost you but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get the job done the way you want it.
