Question
Graupner Biene ?

Anyone here been around long enough to remember this awesome little glider ?

Plastic ABS Fuse & built up balsa wings. Covering, quality and overall finish was superb.

Wish I could find one new in the box somewhere.

Does anyone know of anything similar out there today ?

I'm sick of foam.

G'day mate
Is this the one you have???

http://www.toellner-modellsport.de/s...rtikelid=10373

The natural progression would be a "Woody" 2 m R ES glider home made.

the graupner biene was my first rc glider when i was about 10 years old.

that's 20 years ago now and i remember catching a thermal with it and shouting out to my father it was going up too high and i couldn't come down .
he took the controls and got it back down for me .

golden memories......

BF if you have a problem with the lingo , let me know , that's my native tongue . The other point is , these guys have a 19% GST on all their gear and that amount comes off your price. (discount) If you're dinkum about the Biene , the OZ $ is at a four year high against the euro right now.
I'm sitting here and contemplating getting one of these

And the You Tube clip

Airfish Impeller Url hgk Video (5 min 28 sec)

Old school glider and 64mm EDF.

Good luck

No the airfish is with an Austrian supplier and it is a pure wood model that does not require covering . It has a "Jedelsky" wing and horizontal stab and all one does is seal the wood. With modern day brushless motors and lipo batteries this suddenly puts a new spin on this 40 year old design .

If you click on the link above(my second post ) and the click on the main picture , you can then scroll through the various aspects of this glider. The supplier is very good with shipping(cost) but for some reason the box of this kit is too long to ship to OZ. Some time back I nearly convinced the lady in the shipping department to just send it anyway and see what happens if the postal service rejects it. But then our OZ $ and the Euro drifted appart and the whole deal got a bit too costly.

Since then I have kept an eye on the exchange rate and that is now turning again. So hopefully I can make this happen this time round.
Going back to the Biene let me know if they respond at all . If not , I can send them an email in German with your request. Also send me a private message with your details and email.

Good Luck

Nice plane. Can't beat the old designs.

I found a Graupner that is very close to the old Biene design but the wings need building and covering. Has aileron/flaps. electric or slope version.

http://www.graupner.de/en/products/c...tab=spareparts

Haven't built and covered a wing for years. might be fun !

G'day there BF

Just sent the email to FunTec Modellsport de. Hope they reply and see what the damage will be.

Here is the Graupner ClubStar from FunTec, I think it's the older version. I thought I read somewhere that Graupner went bust but all their radio gear wet to a mob in Japan.

Thanks TW

The Club Star looks close but am having 2nd thoughts about building & covering wings. I can do that stuff but it's a PITA

That Sinfonie looks cool. Are you tempted ?

I'll let you know how it goes.

Much appreciated !
