Real MIG 15 jet flies over my house!

This jet came in very low and circled the neighborhood 3 times! After the second, I ran for the camera. I didn't get very good shots, but here they are. I am pretty sure it is a MIG 15. It was dark blue and had flames coming out the back. Loud and cool. I wish the pictures were better.

THAT'S IT! It had the drop tanks and everything! It was very low and definitely circling the neighborhood for a reason. Either the pilot lived there or had someone he was trying show off for. It was low enough that we were on the lawn waving to him.
I didn't know they were still flying.

Thanks,

MIKE

Cool paint Job! I think that is a mig 17. Three wing fences and also in pic three you can see the flames from afterburner. the 15 didnt have these.
Very cool to see. The red bull mig is bases near buy in San Bernadino. Whish I gould get a ride!!!

There was one of the flying MIG 15's that had stopped here in Little Rock to refuel and then on takeoff lost power and crashed on takeoff. It only did minor damage to it. That was about two years ago and I know they had to truck it back to it home base for repairs. The same plane had flown at the Air Force Base here about three years ago. It had red trim, very much like the park fliers out there. I wonder if this is the same pilot.

Yep, Mig 17, the 15 didn't have an afterburner. Bill Reesman has flown the Mig 17 at the Nellis Airshow several times in the past few years and the burner flame is the thing I remember the most.

I remember seeing the Smirnoff Mig's painted red, do believe those were Mig 15's at the Moffet Air show in 2000.

Definitely a Mig 17 - the afterburner and highly swept wings are the tell-tale signs...

It was so cool at the airshow this past weekend. That mig show was cool. Here's the promo on it.

New to the Indianapolis Air Show!!

Squadron 17

Piloted by David Burdine, a former Naval Aviator and Top Gun pilot, the Mig 17 will perform 12 to 14 minutes of spectacular afterburning airshow flying, and with his interactive narration provide you with an inside the cockpit version of what is happening during the high G manuevoers he is doing. To learn more about David Burdine and this great Mig 17 act go to: Squadron 17

If you guys ever get a chance to come to this airshow don't miss it. It is one of the best!
