Tiny with a CD rom Brushless ??

I am thinking of building a Tiny and putting a Home made cdrom brushless on it.

The other gear will be

Jeti 5ch reciever
9g servos
Jeti 8 3p ESC
and maybe Lithium Ions or poly cells

I want to build V tail but with no rudder to save weight and i want to fly indoor with it not outdoor.

Any help or suggestions would be good.

Well...If the CD rom motor ends up lighter and more powerfull than than an IPS it should be a hoot to fly.

My Tiny was built from free downlaod plans. I flew first with a regular stock IPS ( from a Lite Stick) drive and 8 300MA cell.

The real fun began when I switched to a C gear ratio and 3 series E-tec batteries.

Vertical and prop hanging are no problems with the above. It still slows down so I can walk next to it.

I have seen videos of Tiny's with Astro motors and can only imagine how much fun they are.

Keep us posted & good luck

Whats an IPS weigh with out the prop the cdrom i have built weighs 18grams with no prop.
I am waiting for the ESC (Jeti JES 8 3p) which will be heavier than the small 2 amp ones used for the IPS.

I am looking at making the wing out of cnc cut foam and the V tail out of coro

Does anybody know what aerofoil section the tiny uses?

What does a built up and covered wing on its own weigh???

I have the plans thanks for that. I was after the aerofoil number beacause the CNC foam cutting software has 1000,s of aerofoils already stored in it and you just and the size and chord % and "bing" you have a foam wing.

I belive i can export it from cad across to a dat file, but i was just seeing if there was an easier way.

I built a 'beefed' up Tiny (didn't cut away the insides of the ribs and riblets and covered with Profilm) and it flies fantastic on a PJS 3D 300. The PJS is about the same as a good CDROM motor so you should be fine. It's one of my favourite hacks. I built the 'T' tail version and coupled rudder to aileron. I am seriously thinking of adding a servo and having seperate rudder. The AUW of my Tiny less battery (I use 8 350mAH nicad 2/3 A cells) is around 5.5 oz.

Regards

Andy

the cdrom is about as powerful as the gtws sp300 size; w/ 1/3 the size and weight (assuming that it is 45 speed or better).
