We may be going off topic, but the FPV set-up was originally bought for the TwinStar, if that helps...

Basically I got the $69, 200mW, 900MHz HobbyKing combo with VTx, VRx and 520TVL Sony cam. I possibly switched the lens for a 2.8mm to get a bit wider angle of view, but I can't really remember. I run camera and Vx of a separate 470mAh 3S LiPo, but I have also just used the plane battery. No real noise issues because of that. I have made a set of simple V-antennaes to save weigth and get a bit more gain.

The FatShark Dominators are my most expensive component, and they come with a cable harness that easily hooks up with the HK VRx and a 3S LiPo.

I have set the VTx and VRx up to ch 3, which is 1040MHz and a seemingly peaceful slot in our local ether.

I use a 40MHz Graupner transmitter and receiver, which is also very rarely used.

I just got into FPV, made my maiden last weekend. It's awesome !! Twinstar is was (and is) my favorite plane, so for FPV i got myself one again.

Setup is simple.

Rangevideo 1.3GHz (TX/RX)...The whopping 1Watt version
Cloverleafs on TX/RX
Flight TX/RX is 35MHz multiplex
Sony TVL600 camera with 2.8mm, I upgraded my old 520TVL
Headplay goggles
Twin hextronic 2200kV inrunners with 6*4 apc-e on 3S3000mAh (max 2*20Amps)

Have some second hand stuff to be used in future:
FMA co- pilot (50$ on ebay)
Tiny OSD (30$ on local forum)

So enough to play around next weeks! It is really awesone and scary at the same time to see the world from pilot perspective !!

Thnxs to both ^ & ^^. Yep FPV has wetted my appetite just like Electric power gliders did nearly quarter of a century ago (800mAh rechargeable NiCad and brushless motor was only heard at top uni research labs.) Now it's all history.

Yep, FPV is the way forward - but as Mike_O pointed out rightly that we should start a new thread, possibly as FPV for TS2 or something like that. Over to you guys Mike_O and Franck - this is your chance to boost up your qudos

PS : I know there are a few FPV threads exist but I'm requested for a TS2 or something else which someone found an easy way to start (in terms of a specific easy to fly model, reliability of equipment with costs in mind too)

I think thats an excellent idea.

A thread for FPV twinstar only. I've been looking all over to find examples for setups on the twinstar, but info is sometimes hard to find, even here on RCgroups. I might just give it a go ;-)

Let me know when you find out your amp usage on the TS.
I had one and ended up retiring it because the amp use was around 9 amps for level flight and I wanted something with better duration.

This is why I love my Twinstar:

I havent measured ampdraw yet, but based on flighttime and gut feeling my Twinstar setup draws approx 6 amps for level flight. Tonight i'll do some measurements.

This is my sunrise flight of yesterday, although not a TwinStar, then at least a Multiplex Twin. Unedited, so just skip trough it:

That is a go pro. You can tell by the distortion that it is in 170 degree mode. I use a gp2 and record at a lower FOV so you don't get that distortion.
Nice to see the width, but doesn't look as good as the proper view in my opinion. Cool video though
