Hobbyparts has some new batteries called Gens Ace. (click Gens Ace on right of main page)

Looks like they are going to surplant the Blue Lipos maybe?
NOTE:
On my 25C pack, On the back, it says not to charge above 5C.
It also says Store Long Term at 3.4V per cell. I believe this to be WRONG! should be 3.85V per cell.

I talked to someone there (I got lucky as I was calling about something else). He said that the label says 5C max charge rate. They are working on posting pics. I know my nanotechs are 5C max charge rate and the 25C nantotech packs perform like 30C turnigy or blue lipos!

So would you say there were comperable to the Nanotechs? or better/worse?

I saw that your sample Gens Ace batteries had Clone Deans, I'm told these have the bananna/bullets on them though.

I would say that one should read my post on both and decide for themself.

One should also consider that I now have 134 cycles on the Gens Ace and it is still doing great while I have had the Turnigy only a very short time and have only 29 cycles only. Perhaps one should also search for other post by others on these.


Perhaps another point to conside is that Ace cells are almost perfectly matched even when discharged 95% and remain so after 100 cycles while Turnigy was mis matched from the very beginning. Others will likely point out that a sample of one means very little. This is some what true but then when most purchase a single Lipoly they expect it to be a s good as others of the same type. Few are willing to except the fact that they may have to deal with getting a occasional lower quality one.


Added: I just ran across this post which just happens to show I am not the only one to get a nano with a non balanced / matched cell.

Perhaps not a big deal and it may be fine after a balanced charge however my qusetion is how does a cell get that much lower than the rest if it is indeed checked at the factory, they have a very high turn over rate (claimed over 30,000 per day) and was not damaged during pack assembly?
FYI My nano cells were perfectly balanced when received. Only monitored discharges showed the cell capacity mis match.

I know I saw your post same as I have seen numerious post on other HK LiPolys about new ones with cells below 3.5v etc. Most just say charge them and they will be fine. If they were other brands they would say make the dealer replace them. If a Thunder Power ,Hyperion,,PolyQuest or numerious other brands started going down hill that fast most would scream fool. If I post comments such as I just have some will say there Charles goes again running down / attacking HK LiPolys and that is the reason I only linked to that one post prior to your post. See what you did ,got things stirred up again. .

If you needed to buy batteries and were plunking down you hard earned cash, would you go with Gens Ace, TP, Hypherion, etc?

I trust your opinion and am just curious.

Bad thing of HobbyCity is their quality control.
These GensAce have maybe a better quality control. So less risk to get a bad pack.

IMO we have a potential winner here, especially for USA RC people.

Looking forward to the first reports of fellow RC pilots about these GensAce packs.
