Plantraco

Had just an awful experience with this company and particularly
Bud of Plantraco.
I have never been treated so bad by some one wanting my business in my life.
I have been modeling for 40 years . 25 years have been in Remote Control Airplanes . I sure am glad that I did not run into this company when I first started or I might not be a modeler today.

Post here about Plantraco good or bad .

??? I'm asking YOU what was so bad about your experience. Please elaborate. Your dissatisfaction is a little more legit if you have a good story to back it up.

Lots of info in this thread about Plantraco DSP4-SC

My friend and I bought one each of these reveivers . We are not using them now because if while flying you get interference the servo's go hard all the way to one side for a split second and then back to neutral . We walked the receiver around two different fields and at the same point both radios would go nuts .
If you are flying close to the ground ( within 5 feet or so ) then you are in trouble . After emailing Bob at the company a few times he claims that there is no problem and he has not had any other complaints about it . This was with two different DSP4-SC receivers on two different planes and radio's and freq's using GWS crystal's . Neither receiver is being used now but the crystals are being used in GWS Pico receivers with no problems .
At above thread you will find people that have had no problems to people that had so much trouble that they gave up on the receiver .
I had an unproductive but pleasent conversation with Plantraco untill Bud emailed me . As to those emails I have nothing more to say than I already have .

I tried to call them 4 times, and left messages with them each time asking to call back, and they never returned my calls. I had the DSP-4 w/10-12amp ESC combo they make and it started flipping out on me after about 2 weeks by cutting the motor in and out intermitantly and making the servos freak out as well. Thank god it was in a PCW which is a nearly indestructable all EPP wing for those not familiar, so the crashes for non eventful. Thank god Justin at edgerc handled it by taking mine back and sending me a new one free of charge. I don't know what I would've done without his help. So, I feel for you big time Happymcc, Plantraco will not get anymore of my business. It's Bergs or GWS RX's from here on out.

OK: I was very satisfied with my LiPo charger from these guys. Their combined RX+ESC seems a good idea for smaller planes; sorry it didn't work for you.

I do not one one of these Plantraco Rx units, but the one day I flew one in a FTM company model, it did exactly what is being talked about here on 2 out of 3 flights.

Interesting.

Love my Plantraco Lithium charger. The dsp4 rx never worked at all, shame on me for never getting around to sending it back. Maybe they'll be at the AMA show in January and I can talk to them about it.

If you are thinking about the DSP4 without the Speed control , it seems
to have some glitch problems also .
