I think I see a couple of P-51s floating around down there near the rocks. That's littering, ya know.

And there might be a couple of divots marks up on the hill. Come on, fellas, always replace your divots.

Hehe, this is really an awesome pic. Makes me want to drive down and have a go.

Approximately what altitude would you say you are in that shot? What kind of gear were you using? Expecially would like to know what kind of airplane you were using.

Nice one Tim........ John probably figured out a way to squeeze a camera into that Mini Taz. Not to worry Tim, If some motion video was needed...You can fit an entire crew & their families into that chubby Mig-3 of yours....

Awesome shot

If you like that one then click on this link. The pic is way to big to post here. It may take a bit to load on screen (dont even try it with a dial up).

These are from a database of California Coastline photos, most in ultra-high resolution.
http://www.californiacoastline.org Click on "Look Up a Location" on the left side.

This is a great web-site

enjoy

Hey, I resemble that remark.

Cool picture.

a shot like that can only be taken by a Ray or Tim pump.

I just went to the site Keith and what a picture. It is the same pic but about 10 times bigger. You can actually see individuals down by where we fly and what looks like someone standing at the edge ready to fly. Very cool. it took about a minute to download with a t1 conection. but worth it.

Nice Tip Keith

That site is AMAZING!

I was surfing there for at least 15 inutes going up and down the coast - lots of fun. Thanks Keith.

BTW, San Diego experts, I looked at this image (from the site provided by Keith)...
http://www.californiacoastline.org/c...1&year=current
...and even though it states "Torrey Pines Gliderport", it almost looks like it's an old photo. I can't see the nice manicured lawn area with the hang glider store, the frequency pin board, etc...

Interesting visual challenge

Happy Flying ;-)

If move the red circle in the map on the web site you can go to differint views of the coast. or just click where it says southeast1 or 10 and northwest 1 or 10 in the site and it will move you up and down the coast. you can check out all the flying site from white point, crystal cove, north face, bluf and even Redondo. In fact going to the home page for this site it looks like you can go anywhere up and own the coast. Very cool. Lookin for a new place to fly? should be able to find it here.

OK--- now take a very good look at the Gazebo on the left where we normally fly. During the ISR picnic there in August-- one of our members had his plane go down--just to the right of the gazebo but BELOW the steep part-- he went over the FRONT of that steep part in THONGS--- and carried his plane down to the bottom-- to climb out on the goat path in the corner!!! ALL of the locals have NEVER heard of anyone surviving that climb without ROPES! Needless to say--- his new moniker is "Sherpa"!!
