The best way to control ACT is to rip it out.

You said it should be a must do. I'm saying it is not a necessary modification

bbob23,

your DX4e has non adjustable rates built into it. You'll have to set up rates on your DX6 yourself. There's nothing to it. Here's how I set up rates for one of my models on my DX9... your DX6 is based on the same Airware...

- Go into D/R and Expo.

- choose the switch you want.

- put the switch in the position you want for your lowered rate and set the percentage you want.

- make sure that setting is 100% when you flick the switch to the other position.

- add Expo too if you want it.

- scroll through aileron, rudder etc.(Channel) and choose the same switch and set them up the same way if you want one master D/R and/or Expo switch for all control surface channels.

That's it.

North_of_49... thanks so much. That's exactly what I needed. I'm guessing 70% for the reduced rate is about right? Obviously for rudder, and elevator only (the Super Cub has no Ailerons...).

I seem to remember the built in dual rates in the DX4e being 70% if you're looking to duplicate it.

All new members should be informed of it.
Must do? If you're adding ailerons and straightening the wing this mod is NOT a must do.

It's not a "must do" under any scenario if you're happy with shoving in large doses of down elevator every time you hit the throttle. I noticed zero change in that behavior when I flattened the wing and added ailerons (and flaps).

FWIW, I think the BEST solution is to fly the Cub stock until you're ready for ailerons and then move up to a Sport Cub--which is, in some respects, considerably easier to fly.

So LHS has this original BNF and RTF for $119 and $159 discounted. I'm far from a new pilot but have helped several people out with this sweet little plane. I'm thinking the BNF is the way to since I already have radios. Any thoughts on the price? ACT will be disconnected and I'll probably leave it stock for 3 channel fun.
