Ralph,

One thing to know is that I built the 480, 100" version, not the 82" version. In the video the aircraft was powered with turnigy sk3 outrunners, but I am now upgrading to Axi 2808/24s to avoid the quality issues I had with the Turing motors. 1 out of the 4 I originally order had bad bearings out of the box, and after 35 flights another motor failed. So a relatively short amount of flying saw 2 out of the five motors I purchased fail.

Paired with the Turnigy motors were D-lux 55 amp ESCs, but now they will be swapped for YEP 30a. All powered by a 2s 10,000 mah Lipo.

Definitely check out the Ivan Sticky for great build threads and info: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=710485

Thanks Matt, my plans are for the 480 so your experience is very valuable to me. I have been flying some small electrics for about 2 years now, so I have gathered some knowledge in that area. I hope to build it this winter so I would like to have my motors before I start.
Thanks again...........Ralph

That my friend was awesome !

Nothing better that a video with well editing multi shots. What a fantastic looking bird. Looks like it is very predictable too.

Thank You.

Boy, its kind of humbling to follow Bart's magnificent work! Nonetheless, I wanted to post a photo of my H9 CUB on amphibious floats.

All retractable gear are actuated by Firgelli servos, and she is powered by an O.S. .65 AX. Ground steering is via HK drum brakes on the oleo mains.

Ground taxi tests have been very satisfactory, and she will soon get her first water experience. Kind of hoping it doesn't sink.
