A123 1100mAh cell availability

What is the cheapest source for A123 batteries? I have no problem with hacking power tool packs if that is the most economical source for quality cells.

www.a123rc.com is a reliable supplier that I've used several times, but I can no longer find that smaller cell on their website.

I looked at a123rc and eBay as well and it looks like the supply has gone dry. Only one or two sellers on eBay now. Here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-A123-Lif...item231eeda178

Genuine 18650 A123 cells were going for ~$2.30 shipped worldwide about 3-4 months ago. Hoping the scarcity is temporary.

The packs made with the 1100 cells look to be available.
Not cheap but free shipping.

I had been scouring web for a day, prior to this initial post, and agree that they are really scarce. I had bought a variety of 18650 and 26650 from one ebay supplier in the past, but he also has told me how difficult it is to get the 18650 size now.
I also looked on Taobao (Chinese market), and there are plenty available, but a $2 39g cell ends up at 200g when you view your basket, so shipping ends up too high.
Pls keep this thread active, so we can try to share any suitable sources.

The small A123 is not 1100ma but 900. I bought a pile of them when the VPX tool line was cancelled. Paid about .50 per cell. They came in pack of two. Great for park flyers.

I can't figure out what tool guy would want them with the low capacity. A1 is in a lot of trouble and won't survive.
