Home made rigid airship
I'm new here but I would like to ask you few things. I'm making 6-meter long, 1.1 meter diameter rigid airship. I have already made construction and today my mylar sheets have arrived. What brings me to this question. Few years ago I made two balloons using thin garbage bags sealed together. Since I don't want to pay for helium, I make hydrogen from NaOH+H2O+Al reaction. Obviously, hydrogen leaked through envelope but I had 1 or 2 hours with enough lift to send a camera up there. I'm doing exact same thing except this one will be radio controlled.
So this is question. Will I get at least some more time with cheap emergency blanket mylar? I just need 2 or 3 hours and that's it?
And, for radio control I'm using FM 80MHz and FM 81MHz home made transmitters with theoretical range of 1000 meters.

http://www.ampef.com/chart.html for O2 H2 would be slightly worst but good relative
comparison between plastic films.
hard on the neck to read - low is good
