good write up Doc, pretty much nailed exactly the way i feel about the laser. I was so afraid to buy one because my extra exp was such an awesome flying plane...after flying the laser i am thinking about skipping the 60" mxs and just waiting for the 60" laser

I'll be torn when it releases, between buying another awesome 60" plane, or waiting on a larger one (Or larger MXS)

I don't think you quite want to do that. The big MXS is still the best plane I have ever flown.

I believe the Holman brothers are currently testing the 60" Laser prototype, so even if Chris signs off on it to put it in production tomorrow, I am guessing it will still take three months from there to get production units in the hands of customers.

If you can wait three months, you're much more patient than I am.

Owning a laser and an MXS is going to be pretty much the perfect setup for EF planes.

saw the prototype this past weekend at e-week, rumor is we are looking at a christmas time release.

I dunno doc, I took the extra out at lunch today and it just didn't feel as well as the mxs and the laser. The laser as we know is just super floaty and the mxs with its high speed and pitch authority(just sick waterfalls) is pretty much all I ever need. While the laser doesn't draw as clean lines as the extra the high alpha ability and the stability of it trumps the clean lines.

maybe the pantera will replace the laser but we haven't seen many videos on it.

They are all different. Each one appeals to someone different. The 48" Extra is my favorite, but I still love them all.

It would be interesting to see who's favorite is what. I'm betting the Extra gets the most votes. It's time to throw down!

Here's my vote for the Extra EXP, (with the Laser being a close second and clear sentimental favorite).
