After the sucsess of my red bull fox i though it fitting to start an new model between building a couple more foxxes.

This model will be a 3.5m hollow molded BLANIK L-13.
i have built quite a few pss models from my own plugs and molds. In the past i have made my plugs from solid MDF as they were small enough not to be to heavy.But and plug this size from MDF would be un workable so i am going to give foam a go for the fuz plug of coarse i will be glassing the foam once carved to shape.

Any coments and help would be appreciated

Why 3.5 meters? If your going to put all that time into a molded ship you should make it 1/4 scale or bigger. I was looking into this plane as my winter project but ended up with the 2-32. One day I would like to build a 1/3 scale version. Good luck with you project.

A 3.5m scalie is better suited to the local slopes i have.

I watched the fox build on here from go, all the way to the maiden, looking forward to seeing it all again with this one

I have made all the wing and tail cutting templates and cut the tail cores and blocked out the wing cores which i hope to get them cut tomorrow night.I have also ordered some 3/4 crome moly tube for the wing joiner.

I got the cores cut tonight also made the keel for the fuz and started cutting the foam fuz out.

• All control surfaces are metal framed and fabric covered - ailerons, flaps, elevators & rudder
• The wheel is semi-retractable - just under half the wheel is still exposed when retracted
• There seems to be many more examples of aircraft fitted with wheels rather than skids. They seem to use the same attachment points

The fowler flaps will be a challenge me thinks. Are we up for it?
