Is this as best to be expected? Headplay goggles..

Hey guys-

I'm trying to sort out some of my FPV bugs.

Currently running the following equipment:

Camera: Sony CC-1333-B
Transmitter: TS5823 w/ Skyzone antenna
Headplay internal receiver w/ Skyzone antenna
Headplay goggles.

This is the view I'm getting. The images are not crisp like I had expected and the range is pretty poor. I can't get very far without it blacking out on me.

Headplay FPV goggles. ZMR 250. (1 min 51 sec)

are you definitely on the correct frequency?? you will get a picture on 3 channels quite often and only 1 is going to give you proper range. it may be a pal ntsc issue but i thought headplays auto selected?? also try with the display set to 4;3 rather than 16;9.

I don't see any issues at all in that video. Need a better example of what you're describing.
No indication that you're on the wrong channel.
5.8Ghz will glitch when you fly behind trees or a house.
Analog SD video transmission will not look like HD video.

Ok. If that's what "good" looks like, I'm fine with that. I may have had unrealistic expectations for the setup. No problem there, I can adjust.

Tip change setting in Camera ..
Using OSD settings .
Skyzone antenna IMO are junk!!
Get some IBCrazy antenna s !!!
Antenna 's are very important for Good picture and distance!!!!!
Also make sure your camera lens is in Focus there are video on how to set the focus ..
Next , your standing next to your house..
Video will change with building or trees next to you .
Goggles antenna looks like it's not upright ?
if turned sideways that will also change your video and range.

I would agree, in that you could be off a channel. I saw effects like that where the headplay set seemed to be receiving the video signal, but it wasn't on the correct channel. I continued searching channels and suddenly it came in crystal clear.

Another thing is maybe the freznel lense is in backwards too. You are supposed to put it in one way only. You have to think three times about it to make sure you get it in correctly.

The antennas can be a issue. I started using iBCrazy antennas too. The Airscrew and Mad Mushroon ones work really well.

That is a good point about the video camera being out of focus. It does happen.

Go t my Head Plays this week. Initial view is terrific. Nothing like what you have.

1) I do have the Fatshark 960 16:9.
2) Image essentially looks like 90's movies : not high-def, but great detail, able to count the threads on fabric that is close to the lens. A softer picture, not as sharp or as 'present' as current 1080 or such, but able to see grass blades, dates on my Palm trees, birds on electrical wires.

Looks ok to me.
Cold weather can affect the focus of the camera , might be worth to re-adjust?
