I designed and printed two motor mounts for the Rarebear motors I just received from HK.
It's abit heavy, but should fly.
I'm looking for a 6x5e prop, and 6x5e reverse prop. Haven't been able to locate yet unfortuately.

The design is found here in case it interests anyone:

The 5.5 x 5.5 speed props ( http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ller_2pc_.html ) made my Tu144 go like stink !! Didn't bother with counter rotate - no problem - but PKJ may be due to its smaller lighter size.

But as you say - hard to find counter props ..plenty in the usual 4x4, 5x5 etc.

Wishing you luck - those Funfighter motors are strong .. bit heavy but good ..

You are making me look at fighting my 'twin beast' again. But that's 2 x 3200kv 's ...

Cheers
Nigel

APC do a 7x5 in normal and pusher. Perhaps you could trim and balance them
http://www.apcprop.com/ProductDetail...Code=LP07050EP or you could try carbon quad props provided they can take the rpm

Awww shucks. Thanks for the good words.
It is engineered so it just slides on the back and is friction-fitted to the foam nicely when installed. Of course abit of glue will help too :-)

Yes, I printed with my 3D printer at 30% infill with ABS. Probably could go less and lighted it up abit.

I have another PJII which runs a 4200kv EDF motor and a 4.5 prop and it doesnt launch at all. just rolls itself into the dirt.
i also have another PJII (mentioned above) with twin stock counter-rotating motors that is probably the easiest plane I've launched in my life.
So, I will stick with the counter-rotating plan.

The idea about filing down props isnt my favourite, but is a certainly a good plan if I can't find any.

To cut down the prop just use a cheap compass. Find a dowel that's a good fit for the prop hole, place in the holder for the pencil and use the pointy end to scribe both prop tips. Trim off the excess and balance.

Guys, I use a set of calipers to mark the porps from the center out, to the lenth I want and then, snip, sand and balance. Works well.

Ok, I found a perfect solution. 5.5 x 4.5 regular and reverse rotation props. These are the same size as found on the 3s / 4s capable 800mm Rarebear that uses the same motor.
Maybe can maiden in a week or so.
Should be around 1.3kg thrust per motor.

Sounds just the ticket! Where did you source the props?

'Omnimodels' on ebay.

These props are just the ticket too, since I probably would have had to cut down two 6" props as they'd be contacting each other.
