33% is good advice.
Keep in mind also that the center of pressure (lift) usually moves ahead (in the direction of travel) with increased angle of attack of the wing(s).

With a lot of planes you can start by balancing at
the main spar. That will get you close enough to fly it.
The go inverted , to test. Most perfer bal with a little
down to fly level, while inverted. Although balance
point preference may vary from pilot to pilot. To much down elevator
your nose heavy , no down you might be tail heavy. But some
like a neutral GC, level inverted flight with no elevator input

Thanks for the replies. I generally would start with balance at the main spar but this plane has a balsa covered foam core wing so there is no main spar. It balanced close to the 33% area so I took it up this afternoon for a short flight and it seems ok but it was a little windy and getting late so I'll fine tune it later. I just installed a new OS 91 so in the process of breaking it in.
