Ordered Silverlit today. I'm newbie and won't be doing any mod for now. Beside adding some weight to rider and changing to lipo, what other things to adjust out of the box?

- Recommended Lipo to buy in US
- Recommended adjustments out of the box
- Recommended adjustments on transmitter
- Tire or bike maintenance, even though this is toy-graded rc.

I'll just be riding inside my apartment for now, very low and thin carpet for now. No racing yet.

Just got my Ducati 1/12 Silverlint ...

I made as start a mess ... the battery use an inverted polarity compared to other with the same plugs ,.. and since the stock charge was blinking ... I though the polarity was wrong ...

So I invert the polarity ... sticked to the bike while was still off ... and in no time ... got some smoke ...

Interesting enough ... the bike is still working apparently fine ... but I need to connect the battery while switched on ... else it will never work ...

What is suspicious, is that I get only few minutes run time ... outside is snowing ... so tested in the living room ...

What is your run time with stock set up ?

As well ... any tips about how to disassemble the bike ... how can I take out the rider and have access to the rest of the bike ?

Danke

ps: I may have a small lipo 2S somewhere ... need to check if it will fit .. and if it will not finish to fry my electronic ...

Sorry to hear that, yes the battery is wired up wrong polarity to anything else out there, not many of us run the stock bike anymore, have a look through the early threads for info about taking the bike apart

Danke

Since I just live 1 day a month in Austria ... I see that RC Bike is getting more and more popular there ... back in 2004/2005 I was alone in all Austria with my HOR and my TT ... and maybe one of the only Ricky in all Austria (took via ebay US and cheap shipping ... and got in just 5 months ... the longest and craziest shipping on my RC shopping history)

One final question ... what is the normal run time with stock set up ?

I'm going to open and check the electronic ... only if I'm less then half of normal run time ... so far I guess I'm around the 5 minutes ... battery get 170mAh after for get a full charge ... using a standard charge loading at 100mAh (stock charger does not inspire me thrust)

EDIT:

I find somewhere on the net : 10 - 15 min run time ... so ... my electronic most probably after the burn out ... is sucking too much battery also in idle mode ... going to open the bike soon .. and see how I can fix it ...

I never disassembled mine - but I guess the back is just "clipped" on the Servo arm?

Tested my "power" consumption of my Silverlit :

Idle 150mA
Rider moving max 0.6A
Full power, free wheel ~1A
Max power, full power + moving Rider ~ 1.4A

Tested with a Pb battery 6V ... reading 6.25V without load.

So with a 220mA at 1A average ... I should get around 10min ...

Anyhow ... if anybody can repeat this test and share data ...

Also it sound quite high the 150mAh in idle mode ...
