Cheerson CX-90 CX90 Brushless 6CH Helicopter

Cheerson CX-90 CX90 Brushless 2.4G 6CH RC Helicopter RTF

Was rather confused when the brushed version appeared as that just didn't make sense, until that is this brushless version popped up, I really don't know why they are also doing a brushed version

Price is interesting as at $130 it is more than the RTF packages for the dual brushless Hisky HCP100S, But this is bigger, does have 6axis(I'm assuming) and will I suspect be more beginner friendly and perhaps quite crash tolerant.

I'm basically looking at this as a smaller master cp, so heavy, easy to fly and can take a beating.

Transmitter is mode switch-able so you can choose from mode 1 or mode 2
Servos are digital, rotary, 5 wire and appear to be emax branded
Tail is brushed and geared, I'm thinking a 8.5mm motor
Main blades are not bulleted so depending on size/hub may be compatible with v120, 130x etc blades
Weight wise it is 35g heavier than the hcp100s (maybe more, depends if the quoted weight includes the battery or not)

Specs on the page are

Item name: Cheerson CX-90 Brushless RC Helicopter
Body Length: 330 mm
Height: 110mm
Weight 111g
Frequency: 2.4G
Battery: 7.4V 450mAh
Main Motor: Brushless
Tail Motor: Brushed
Battery for transmitter: 4 x 1.5V AA battery(not included)
Transmitter can switch from Mode 1 to Mode 2, vise versa.

Package Includes:

1 x Cheerson CX-90 Brushless RC Helicopter
1 x Transmitter
1 x Battery
1 x Charger
2 x spare blades

I wonder how good the transmitter is? If its programable, or if it can be used with Deviation TX , Id give it a go.
I cant read what the buttons say on the TX picture, but it does have 2 switches up top, the TX looks a similar layout and size to Devo 7e, (but that still does not mean it is programable).I do think it should be for an outdoor heli like this.
Cheerson seem to be well recieved with their quads, and with such an emphasis on multimotors recently, Its nice to see a new helicopter from a manafacturer that makes quads. A sort of 'reverse Walkera' business plan

Have been trying to find more info on this but it's not easy.

The tx looks identical to the SH 6050 heli but I cannot find any info on the features of that in english but it appears to be pretty basic.
using the rather useful google translate app and camera input feature I found the middle right button next to the lcd appears to be for selecting a high or low mode, upper left switch is throttle hold and upper right is normal/idle up

At the moment I'm thinking this may actually just be 3axis.

There is a video of it and it looks ok, no idea which version it is as they put some stupid music on it, when will they learn the sound of the motor is all the music we need.

This site is extremely unreliable for me and incredibly slow when it is working so it may take a good few tries before you actually get to see it.

There is also one mention of the heli on cheersons Chinese site with a date of the 20th of April, no idea if that is a release date though.

Hey SP, thanks for posting, that video is absolutely brilliant! Awesome flying, great scenery and some really innovative shots. Slick marketing If it's half as good as it appears in the video it should be OK, but what a shame to see another toy Tx...

They all look great in the hands of the pilots they use , it so often has little to do with the heli though .I'd also like to no if " no Cheerson helicopters were damaged in the making of this film" as there were a few moments that looked iffy before it cut to next scene .
Hope its as good as it looks , wish they made a variable pitch tail though .

Cheerson sells the SH6050 as well which is reported to be designed by ex-Walkera engineers. So this one could be designed by them as well.

Looks good bet it doesn't fall apart in air like HCP-100s. Designed by ex Walkera guys most likely good heli. Time will tell. TX looks toy like.

My 100S hasn't fallen apart in the air, but when it makes high speed contact with the ground is another story....

This looks interesting. Tail motor mounting obviously bows to the Master CP, look forward to hearing more about it. Good price for a brushless in this size including a (toy) remote. Maybe these guys will be the new Walkera, but at a better pricepoint?

The transmitter has an LCD screen and enough buttons to be programable but you'd imagine they would mention it as a selling point ,its hard to understand why they would make a heli this size and brushless but with a basic transmitter ?
