Is anyone around various continents of this globe, noticing dramatic difference in the weather conditions for flying RC models? Down here in this AE of the world (only qoating what our ex PM once said) we are experiencing the crappiest, most inconsistent and unreliable wheather pattern I ever remember. I feel like giving up this silly hobby or emigrating to afrika. J.

No use coming here, the weather is pretty crappy here too. The wind has been blowing for most of the year - especially flying days. The ironic part is, we drove out to a slope flying wtwo weeks ago which was 300km away - and no wind.

Well quite simple really.

The hotter it gets the more turbulent it gets which results in wind and then when water is involved it's like the Boiling jug mor heat more turbulance equals more moisture and more compresion of everything equals wind and on it goes.

If planet gets hotter still will be really hard to fly RC as she just gonna be more of the same.

Although have been waiting for the day we can justafiably fly Cement Bricks with wild abandon can't be to far away now....... :d

Anyway, we've had a very good year for flying here in Northern California. One of the best in recent years.

Becoming very used to flying in 8mph and up winds now, since it seems that's what we have day in and day out anymore. I've been doing this now for 3 years, but this has been the worst year for wind by far.

Love the days when wind is under 4mph since planes don't bounce around and look much more realistic. Could use a bunch more of 'em.

We`ve had plenty of flying weather in N Texas this year, but here that means wind below 20 mph. Under 10 is considered calm.

Deffinitelly no global warming down here in OZ. Last year we had no summer at all, and this year it looks lot worse. Today it's more like mid winter then summer on its way. Cutting the field for 2 hours, nearly froze in 30+mph southerly today. Global warming? you must be kidding, it's going back to the ice age, J.

All the good weather has moved south to us in Melbourne, hardly any rain this month.

Tony, I'm not talking one month but at least last 3 years of this crap weather. Ask Tommo or Ken! I'm trying to fly your Ramtec off the beach with vid/cam to get some great footage, getting sand blasted instead most of the time going there. Only remembering days you went there and didn't feel like coming back, the good old calm days seem to be gone, J.

well, up in the great white north that is Canada, we had really no winter last year. we are closing in on the end of November and we've had all the signs that the weather will be more of the same this winter. last week it was 21 degrees C here, instead of the usual -21. LOL. the scientists have said it'll be an average of 4+ degrees warmer over the next 10 years. after saying that, I don't buy the global warming theory. the earth is in a natural warm up cycle before it goes into a cool down cycle. it's happened before and it'll happen again. I'm sure humans don't help matters much, but global warming is a get richer scam by the already filthy rich. just my 2 cents. LOL.

Yes, I'm hearing a lot about abnormally warm temp. up in Nth. Hemi but down here its surely the opposite. Never put foot out of house today, its blowing 80km'h and cold! J.

We always have windy springs here, but the last few summers have been above normal temps. Winters have been pretty mild also, very few days below -20° F. and less snow. Has really hurt the tourist industry! Even had to cancel the Beargrease sleddog race last year. (Not enough snow)
The lakes up north , Boundry Waters area and west of there have no ice yet.

I live just outside the city limits of Duluth (over the hill) and our biggest weather changer is Lake Superior. It's amazing how much it affects the weather in MN, WI, and the UP of MI.
