Yeah i think it is like the QRF 400 but it has a egyro now, the alloy chassis is an ARX copy for sure.

It seems to have a single pivot steering as well the QRF was like the ARX, the MM forks would probably bolt straight on.

Nice find TJ. Always interesting to see something "new" pop up.

Phantom 400 - Hmm, a tip of the hat to the old QRF 400 aye? Just enough changes to avoid copyright infringement, but enough the same to be almost a clone of the QRF. Same ugly rider. Question is did they remember to harden the shafts? The QRF's were made of butter as I recall comments around here and HK had to release a hardened shaft set to fix it. So cheap parts would be a concern right off the bat. Its definately 1/4 scale though: Length:500mm Width:mm Height301mm(exclude pilot) Wheel Base:360mm Compared to VMX/MM450: 548mm, width-, height w/o rider 311mm, wheelbase 370mm.

The interesting thing I see of course is the egyro. This statement was the main feature that caught my eye"You can remove the 400g clump weight on the flywheel of gyroscope in real tire after you are skilled in operation." So it may be something similar to the anderson m5's flywheel or I guess more like the old vmx450 flywheel where a steal ring can be removed? And just to compare, my notes say the old vmx450 steal flywheel ring was 340gr. So that gyro is packing some serious stability I bet. I would like to get my hands on the e-gyro alone.

No vids so far from my quick search.

Minimum order 20 pieces.

Maybe we could convince Bruce to stock them.

Created a bike page on my site with all info known along with finding some photos that distributors would use that show features. http://www.rcdirtbikeaction.com/bikes/zd-phantom400/

Found an interesting photo regarding the gyro. Its weird how its like the vmx gyro with the side plates for unknown reason, but otherwise its similar to mm450 lol...

The side plates are probably the 400gram clump weight that can be removed, very interesting that it is the same design as the MM, it is like it is part QRF & part MM, i am liking it more & more, i wonder whether it has the spring steering or a damper & i could not see where the wires for the gyro are running.

Does look rather promising. All this has got to be is half decent quality and at the price it'll be a winner.
Fingers crossed guys.

What was the Hobby King version like?
