Great Planes Escapade .40 conversion

I recently got in a trade a GP Escapade .40. I already own one of these planes, and was thinking about converting the second to electric. My first glow escapade runs well on about 800W. To keep the cost down, I'd like to use the 6S 3000 mAh 20C batteries that I already own, but I wonder if 6S is too much. I do not have much experience with electric, so any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Best advise is go to the Sport Plane thread and search for Escapade. You will find a ton of info there.

After playing around with a couple of power calculators, I think I should try a motor in the 1000 W range with 650kV spinning a 11x7 prop...

this all would depend on how many cells your going to power up with, 4 cells would be kinda weak, 5 cells is getting some good power and rpms.

make sure the 6 cell packs fit under the battery hatch, a 450 kv motor on 6 cells should work well to.
