GWS P-51D Mustang

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHCK7&P=0

I am interested in this airplane. I am looking for feedback and if my Cirrus 4 channel (27Mhz) radio would be sufficient for this. It has micro servos.

Which battery out of the two recommended would you suggest?

Thank you!

There are tons of threads about this bird, all the GWS warbirds pretty much build the same (easy) the stock motor setups on the warbirds stink unless you don't mind flying 5-10MPH over your stall speed at WOT the whole time on the stock motors / batteries GWS recomends. If I were building it I would go with a brushless motor something like a BP-12 and run on 1000-2000mAh 3-cell LiPO's but there are tons of posts on P-51 builds check them out. Very fun fast plane from watching the vids people have posted, not for a beginner though it would make a good 3rd or 4th plane ..

Alternative...

Out of the P-51 and the Typhoon 3D, which one would be easier to fly? I'm looking at the Typhoon for durability and I like the fact that it comes with a nice radio for a great price.

I know that 3Ds are slower, that's why I keep leaning toward this plane.

I'd go with the Typhoon, Park Zone finally put 3 wire servos and a seperate esc and reciever that can be used in another plane if you total the Typhoon. (I don't have a Typhoon myself, I'm just speaking from what it includes right out of the box)

I guess you would have to give us some info on what you are flying now, it makes a big diff and helps out on the advice giving, most 3-D planes can be slow or they can fly like a park flyer depending how you prop them but I'm not sure how easy 3-D planes are to fly I'm into warbirds, pattern planes, and heli's right now so I can't help you out with that one.
