Please tell me they are compatible. My wife got me a BNF because I said I have a radio, but I cant get it to bind. I am very anxious to get it flying. Please help.

Yes they are compatabile. Place bird on ground plug in battery let it sit until fast blue flashing. Turn off radio, hold down bind button and turn on radio. Keep holding the bind button untill you have a solid light on the nano. Pull throttle to zero, then puwer up and fly.

No they are not compatible. The DX6 uses DSM protocol. The DX6i is compatible.

Is there a way to mod the dx6, or is there a better way? If I were to go with a DX6i which version is the most capable? Also, would it be a negligible price upgrade to go for a dx8 or better? Thanks for any help. I did manage to bind to my Blade mcx helo radio, I think they use the same rtf radio. I lucked out and got that on a big rc purchase, but the radio is a dx6, I was not aware of the dsm dsmx dsm2 thing.

You can get any other Spekky radio and the new Dx9 looks nice if you can afford it. I use a 9XR and OrangeRx module so I can bind to any DSM2 or DSMX model. A steeper learning curve but powerful firmware. Also there is the Orange 6 channel TX if you want a low cost easy to use 6 channel. Not sure if thats DSMX, you will need to check that.

Thanks for the info on this post !

I just picked up a used DX6i at the NEAT Fair this past weekend. (see NEAT fair on main page ! ) It bound up nicely with my NANO QX.
