Nitro VMX/MM450 First run.
I took my nitro VMX/MM450 to the track for it's first run but it was too wet to run on the dirt
so i decided to run it on the grass to test steering & suspension & see what it is going to go like & i am so impressed & pleased how good it performs, the stronger gyro force, soft tyres with inserts, oil forks, single pivot steering with damper & big bore shock in the rear it is so stable & smooth .
& some nude pics for Lukey & any other pervs ![]()

You have a good eye as they were stiff, i was just talking to Chris H about a fork binding issue when the wheel is mounted & slightly spreading the forks causing them to bind, but i have to say the VMX/MM parts have transformed this bike it is really nice to ride now. ![]()

Ditto what everyone else said. Amazing work. You got skills! It would have been great just getting the bike converted but with the graphics and rider too...wow. I saw the video yesterday around 3pm my time but it later showed up as private. Seems to be working fine today though. Definately will put these up on the website hopefully tonight if I get the chance.

The ARX also has a parallel link set up which projects the pivot point ahead of the bike in space. Because of this the rake angle and the steering arc are related. This is not like a conventional bike. The VMX direct steering also projects a pivot point in space ahead of the bike but since the pivot point in stationary the rake angle is more conventional like a full scale bike. This makes the rake and trail figures good so its stable. The forks have to be parallel so with a digital caliper measure the fork shafts at the seals and at the drop outs. This should be the same figure if not then they bind. Shim the axle as needed to get them paralllel and square. I made an option part set they sold that includes shims and a tougher axle shaft. You can copy that or buy one and it will help sort out and toughen up the front end. If the forks are being spread then the tripple clamps could be off. Check them with a caliper to see the inner edge to edge distance is the same from one to the other. You can do this with the forks installed just take a few measurements to compare. Another trick you can do is use a thin sand paper with 220 grit and wrap a piece around the fork tube. Use this as a tool to hone the tripple clamp lightly. Take a few measurements after you do a pass and see. Also, do a double check and make sure the fork shafts and tubes are not bent. Finally, take the forks and blueprint them as mentioned before in the other threads. You will be able to put a bending load on them and have them work smoothly when this is done. Now it will come down to tuning the front and rear suspension together and getting it to do what your looking for it to do. Fun project man keep it up, lts see some dirt and comparo vids soon!
