ESC works great!!!! However I'm having some type of interference with my 2.4 ghz Fly Sky. It use to not drop out after 200 yards. Wonders if i should move receiver to back of boat and maybe run part of antenna out of top and seal with silicone. Any thoughts?

Try placing it to the back of the boat first and loop the antenna the best you can, away from the esc. If that doesn't work, do a quick dry test by running it out the water dump hole.

What does looping the antenna mean? Circular rotations

Hi!

Yesterday i purchased a FT009 to my son, during the first ride everything was working fine, big waves but the self-righting worked as intended.

Recharged the battery and during the second run the self-rightning doesn't seem to work, I'll try to give full reverse and full forward but it does not turn around.

I have opened the boat and looked at the solder joints but they seem to be fine.

Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong? Am I doing something wrong? During the first run when the self-rightning worked fine i think it turn around automatically, I was just pulling full throttle forward the whole time, maybe the waves helped the boat to turn around

UPDATE: I have now done some testings and it looks like if the battery runs low there is not enough power for the self-rightning to work.

Are you using the stock ESC?

Had some fun last week with my FT009. I finally retired my brushless FT009 as I didn't want to spend $80 on an ESC and instead used that money to get a Barbwire Atomic XL!

My daughter had been nagging me for weeks to get the boats going again!

Absolutely. And an FT-007 too. These are great boats. My FT009 has had hours of trouble free run time, and has never given me any problems at all.

Can't say the same for its faster brother, the FT012. Much faster, but with more issues too. I think the 009 power train is the ideal setup for this size boat.

Sweet. I'm thinking of upgrading my green FT009 to the 14v Titan 21t motor. Its my wifeys and she complains its too slow. But I need another brushed esc and some more 3s 1000mah lipos which is about $50 bucks. My other FT009 has been really reliable on that same setup.

I've got 3 of the FT012's coming on the slow boat.

Describe your trimming of the boat, and what problems you've seen?

Wife and I love bashing our twin 009's, they're tough little buggers.

I think with the 012, you'll have to respect that the throttle isn't an on/off switch. Smooth is good. Can't wait to get all three out on a pond, hope they all bind tx/rx together.

Probably the biggest issue reported has been leakage, mainly in earlier models and supposedly now corrected. My first one suffered the front bearing seizing issue, where the bearing overheats to the point that it melts the interior shaft mount assembly. Banggood sent replacement parts for the problem, and I have just gotten the boat ready to run again this weekend. I have also replaced the bearings with ceramic versions, which should help with the heat. Did the same with the second one I just received. Also ordered the TFL 432B prop, which should be great on the FT012.

Not too much you can do to trim this boat, other than try to adjust the turn fins. The trim tabs are plastic and not really adjustable. It really is a great little boat - much faster than the FT009 - and I hope to have lots of run time with mine this Fall.

Have fun with your new FT012s
