If it HAS to be a 4CH heli I'd recommend going for a BL main engine and a not too big - the bigger they are, the harder they fall. (the higher the repair bill).

The Power StarX2 /WL 930 has proven to be a decent, durable bird that will even tolerate more wind than any flybarred 4ch helo. Up-to-date Flight Controller, no flybar, small, lightweight, agile, different flight modes.

The V912 BL is quite OK also, but has the quite aged flybarred system that will limit your movement ability a lot.

Same counts for the V913 that even haunts you with a even higher spare bill as it chews through main motors like crazy.

If you want to just learn rotary flight, go for a decent 150-200 mm quad.
Cheap, durable, will fly circles around any 4CH heli.
Manage one of these and hop on a CP Heli anytime then.

V912 bl is better bird. Yes V913 is bigger but not better. V913 eats tail moyors big time..read about it. If you get one at least get bl version.

it is all about having fun, the 9116 was very fun but a brushless copter would have been great, no long waits for motors that would burn out after 20 flights. good luck and good flying .

I bought my 9116 couple years ago long before flood of helis available today. I had and still di Walkera V200D01. I wanted a cheap heli to fly as not to dork my v200. Well V200 out flys 9116 10 fold. I am sirprised 9116 is still offered. Double horse is good outfit to stay away from. That said 9116 does fly and cheap to fix.

They still fly

Still have a few of these 9116 helicopters... moving and not sure what to do with them.

I was going to give them to my dad, but then decided he deserved better.

I still have one also. Sitll flys but don't even bother with it. I was going to put WL toys V915 motor in it but waste of time.

Hard to believe one is still flying it.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...10sec_V2_.html
is a direct fit, cheaper replacement.

Thanks Mike, I will. I still. Have a couple of those I take out every now and then. They stay on the shelf most if the time though.

Do your self a big favor and buy a V911 RTF for about $40.00. Or get V912 similar to 9116 but 100X's better. about $65.00 RTF. Plus that TX will also fly 9116. Really pounding dirt with 9116.

9116 is way out dated and poor quality heli.
