Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 4S 45~90C Lipo Pack (USA Warehouse)

I just ordered 3 of these today.
A little more than I wanted to spend, but the 45 ~ 90 C ought to have a lot of balls (punch) in this setup !
Hopefully they won't take forever to get here from the USA warehouse ???

40" wingspan, same motor/esc as the Peaks, etc.

Should be lighter with the smaller dimensions.

Wonder why they made another 3D type biplane so soon?
im thinking
one) they peaks is so popular that they decided on putting out another biplane
two) they decided on a more hard core 3D plane after we the customers have worked out all the kinks on the pitts . they have applied all our work on this new improved biplane
IMO i think they should have made it the same size .or bigger at least a 55inch
.

I was going to buy the peaks but decided to wait for the devil 3d. Well I got it today. Ordered it on Sunday and the plane was at the door step today!
Here are some pics posted on the Dynam devil 3d thread.

Can anyone take a pic on battery placement and would like to know how you setup the expo and dual rates.

Can it easely be used by an intermediate ("early-intermediate") pilot ? I am currently flying a Gemini from MPX. More or less the same handling ? Thanks!

The Gemini is smaller, lighter and rolls much faster. I used to have one but sold it because the flimsy, bouncy landing gear caused more problems than I cared for. The Peaks is much smoother on takeoffs and landings but the Gemini is better at 3D right out of the box. For just flying around, there's not much difference other than the size and weight.

I've been using large and smallish 2200 mAh packs and the cg is very forgiving on this Bipe. I have used anything from front of batt 3/4 forward in batt caompartment to moving it aft so the front of batt is 1/2 in the batt compartment. Flying is fine either way. Still searching for sweet spot. Manual cg is good starting point. Fly low have fun. Make sure you do the mods, they are worth the time. Especially the batt straps!

Just tone down the rates and start at say 40% expo. It's a very forgiving airframe. Make sure you do the mods on this thread- glue gear, add batt straps and magnets to batt compartment, etc. if its your first biplane remember there are two wings out there- more drag in turns, add some power or have a little speed. Landing- I think the problems with tearing the gear off are from approach speeds that are way too fast! I landed this (with a healthy 15-20 mph wind) in 1 foot!). It will slow nicely. Have fun, it's a great airplane especially for the price!

I put a freshly charged 3 cell pack in the plane and powered it up holding it vertical by the top wing and gagged the throttle.
It wanted to slightly pull out of my hand, but after the initial top charge came off it would just hold its own weight with no upward pull.
Yes, I'm sure I could fly it with the 3 cell, but I know I would be disappointed.
Plus, I don't feel like trying to balance it with the 3 cell and have to balance again with the 4 cell.
Can't wait for the new packs to get here so I can experience all the fun you all have.

SOON !
Jim

You could go with a larger prop like a 14 x 7 for more thrust but you might want to check the amp draw with a meter to be safe.
