Thanks Andrew, Kev.

Stringers are all done now so the fuse is finished but for the noseblock and cowl.
Weight of the fuse and tail surfaces was a pleasantly suprising 2g!

I had a look at gold marker's in tesco but at 4 quid a pop I might not bother!

I've added the 'proper' cowl in 1/32 balsa. The dummy radial is the printed one cut off the plan and shaded with 4B pencil... I'm not really a fan of the stark white effect where the plain photocopy is used.

The balsa infilling between the stringers is more 1/32 to enable me to anchor the tissue to something. Iit would have been easier in retospect to add the infills first in soft block, sand it down and then add the cowl - I managed to get it the wrong way round: cowl first, which made the infills awkward. Hopefully it was worth it for a tiny weight saving!

I've started testing colours for chalked and marker inked tissue. Not sure if I'm going to bother yet, the colour does look a bit of a richer red, but not much...

A bit more progress...

The wing came together quite easily. The dihedral way built in so that the top spar is in tension.

I've been dithering about how to get 'that' colour... Peck red tissue comes closer than esaki red or orange... I'm increasingly disillusioned with attempts to chalk or die with markers!

Thanks CG - I wish I was as fast at building as you!

Here are the bones at the mock up stage, just taped together at the moment...

Nice work John.

Knlelver, the clue is in the tittle of the thread....dime scales are usually 16" span.

I believe it is named after the Comet and other kits of the 30's which sold for 10 cents - ie a dime.

They are generally pretty basic and that is their appeal to many, but will fly pretty well with modern props and decent rubber/balsa.

Not bad, bimbling along. Been distracted by a 1980 MG Midget, which I bought for a ton.

My best mate and I are going to try and get to Monte Carlo and back in it next summer...

My MIG set has been really busy!

Started covering the little Cloudster. After toying with various tissue options, I decided to go for orange esaki. It's not the perfect colour but it's light and easy to work with.

I've done the flying surfaces... shrunk but yet to be doped.
