Cool
Long weekend trip, Koh Sichang & Koh Samaesan (Thailand)

Last week I took a little break from work and hit the road due South from Bangkok. I stayed with my GF at a resort called Paree Hut on the island of Koh Sichang. As usual I had my Sidekick with me so first thing I did after arriving was to whip it out and do a couple FPV flights around the area. This video is made with bits and pieces of those two flights recorded with a stripped down #11 Keychain camera.

Paree Hut resort, Koh Sichang. FPV flight (3 min 40 sec)

Later I'll post a video made the next day on Koh Samaesan, a hundred or so kilometers further South from Koh Sichang.

heh... if you liked that catch you will love this one:

Dive, then fly, then dive again... (2 min 23 sec)

It was shot with the older, non HD keychain camera but the same plane, around another Thai island. By now I think that plane has as much flight time over water as over land.

Yes, the first video is with an HD keychain camera, the second one is older, with a SD keychain camera, you can clearly see how big the difference in video quality is between the two cameras.
I haven't had the time to work in the design and construction of the bigger Sidekick, I've been sidetracked by work and other projects.

ThaiskyDigital, nice videos, I saw them already in the RCThai forum. I'm building a tricopter right now (one of those sidetracking things!) to carry a GoPro camera, similar to what you used for the temple video, I think.

I uploaded a second video from the weekend trip.

Koh Samaesan, third FPV flight. (4 min 0 sec)

I still have to fine tune the image stabilisation with VirtualDub and Deshaker, but I think I'm getting better at it.

The third video finished uploading.
Actually we planned to go to another island, Koh Kham, the small one a kilometer or so off the beach, in the direction of the hill at the far end of the beach, but the tide was too low for the boat to take us there.
You can see the fishing village of Chom Samaesan some distance away.
