yet another reason to drop google

http://www.prisonplanet.com/google-s...s-results.html

I've tried a couple searches on Google shopping ...

9mm Ammo
Smith and Wesson M&P Shield
Colt 1911

all came back with no hits.

He's talking specifically of shopping. Click the shopping link.

So far, it's worked for any gun stuff I've searched for.

But I did finally find a replacement for google apps / mail for my bigger domains. zoho.com seems to be very good. I've been trying to get away from google mail for years.

Nope - he's right

NO firearms related searches work - just searched for this earlier this week and had plenty of results - got this tonight:

Quote:
Your search - cimarron new sheriff - did not match any shopping results.

Suggestions:

Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
Try different keywords.
Try more general keywords.
Try fewer keywords.

I wonder if this has something to do with it:

Google Shopping

First, we are starting to transition Google Product Search in the U.S. to a purely commercial model built on Product Listing Ads. This new product discovery experience will be called Google Shopping and the transition will be complete this fall. We believe that having a commercial relationship with merchants will encourage them to keep their product information fresh and up to date. Higher quality data—whether it’s accurate prices, the latest offers or product availability—should mean better shopping results for users, which in turn should create higher quality traffic for merchants.

I have been getting a flag on Google shopping and ignoring it, about this change. Google Shopping was already missing the low price seller on a lot of items, leading me to believe they were charging for showing results anyway.

Who cares? When you exclude a product or product group, because of some fringe ideology, as in this case, you lose. I just changed all my browser settings and canceled everything Google.

GOOGLE
