I have seen one reference in another thread that the R7008SB SBUS2 RX will not work with the Naza. I have connected it but haven't had any luck getting it to work. Anyone have any experience with this RX and the Naza?

Thanks

... and you add a small fuse serial (about 1A, or any low value you find), and you get the voltage reading on your telemetry screen, with alarms and all that stuff, for 2$.
The TX telemetry Futaba and others offer is very cool but the Turnigy Quanum does several nice things they don't which I think make it well worth the $49:
  • The Telemetry RX screen is placed in an easier to read position and can be angle adjusted.
  • The text is really big and bright so no bi-focals req'd
  • The Telemetry TX is easily swapped to any pack on any aircraft so RX type (or TX type for that matter) doesn't matter.

bit of a heads up. I left my lipos out in the cold on my deck over night. they were all charged and ready for a full day of flying.

My sis called and I had to run over and run her over to the hosp. That next day I remembered
they were out there and went to fly them. I had 8 batteries on the deck all charged. The cold killed half. They were drained down to less than 4 volts total and would not charge. They were dead.

I let them sit in the house for several days and tried again.
Still sitting at the same dead volts of 4 (maybe 4.2) and would still not charge.

So...do NOT leave them in the cold below 40* over night. Unless of course you WANT to throw away $50 batteries...

Man, that sucks!
FWIW from eHow Tech:
Cold Weather
Cold weather and frigid temperatures can have an effect on almost all batteries. All batteries, including LiPo batteries, rely on a chemical reaction to produce the electric current. When the weather is cold, the temperature can reduce the speed of the chemical reactions. In no case should a LiPo battery be allowed to freeze. Freezing the battery can completely ruin the pack.

Just six years ago 3S 2000 or 1800 mah 10C lipo costed over $50 apiece. Back then, we had to know what we were doing.

OK, but what is the freezing temperature of a LiPo's electrolyte? Certainly it's not 32F.

I have been told to store lipos in the refrigerator. You were supposed to have them charged to 50% and they are good for long term storage. Looks like I need to get on the WWW and do some research.

What is considered "long term" storage. I often go a month without flying and when I go to fly the batteries are pretty much as I left them @ 97%. I store my batteries in a cinderblock homemade battery vault in the garage which is generally fairly cool - 50'sh.

Let us know what you find out.

Here is a good article that shows the relationship of charge/temperature/capacity loss. It appears that cold storage is not a bad thing. Here is the link;

I left my lipos in the fridge not freezer for 18 months when I left for China. All lipos work when I came back. Fridge is not below freezing. I take the battery out of the fridge for a couple of hours in room temp before flight.
Below 32F or overnight at freezing temp 32 or below, give it a try; no power at all.

Freezing Lipos

Fellow posters, I did not mean to get a big debate going when I copied and linked the eHow article on lipos and freezing temps when I answered alwaysconfused.
Like Ed, I did some searching after I read your responses, and actually can't find anything conclusive.
Even though the electrolyte in a lipo does not freeze at 32 degrees F, there seems to be a consensus that storing them at really low temperatures is not a good idea.
If anyone finds anything more specific, please chime in...
