Kurt, always nice to see again on RC Groups the Gentle Lady that started it all! And the Ace R/C Micropro 8000 TX your daughter is holding is certainly overkill for the GL but I should talk, having used a single stick Micropro with my Wanderer.

Your best floater thread is really taking off! Have to find the pics of my Windrifter (my best floater) in better days.

my current fleet of birds

Here is my current fleet of birds. The one in the back is my houstonhawk. My canard glider is on the left and my 2meter (thermalrocket) glider is the purple one. The 2meter and canard gliders are my own designs.

My best floater is a Tragi 801, got bent wings and all, so I figured it qualifies?

Even flies rudder/elevator only...

Not a problem Marc... The Supra and before that, the Mantis evolved aound the bent wing. I guess it is like comparing a '57 Chevy to a '12 Porsche.... Some like classics... some like ultimate performance...

Thanks

Very Classy Doug. One of many on my "want-to-build" list.

Now this is "in the beginning"...

I built this J & J Industries American Eagle in the early '70s. The picture was taken in 1975 just before I headed to college. I sold this plane in the 80's for about $25 and to this day am kicking myself!

Here is a Sky Bird, Oly III and a 2m Li'l Bird. All great flyers. Don't get to fly them as much as I would like but when I do, they never disappoint.

Seems to have dimensions similar to an Oly 99 from this angle.
