Redo the retract mount with ply? I would leave the duct the way it is if there's no real need to rip it out?

The MiG-15 can be a bit of a vicious tipstaller if you fly it too slow, it tends to go a bit unstable esp. if it is windy.

Some MiG-15 have some washout in the wingtips (eg HTG), so that can help a bit.

Hi Herb, Iv committed myself to the job in hand by cutting the front off so i can get proper access :-( big learning curve, so il see how i get on as i will reinforce the mount and formers, and go from their!

Interesting I'm taking it you just cut the nose and pulled it and the intake out of the fuselage. Whats is the plan to reinstall the nose you going to make it detachable?

yea thats about right BL.
I cut with a dremel along the panel line on the nose .. This gave me enough width to remove the inlet, It just took a little jiggling and it came free of my fan.
No plans to make it removable as I don't want to make a habit of removing it ;-)

Iv had a change of heart as im gonna make the nose detachable..il post pics of my progress as and when ;-)

You got it! If you look at the profile of a wiper blade their is a H section in their..I just need to snip the rest away ;-)
Firstly though I need to fill and sand the nose as my previous attempts at removing were not successful, im sure in the end it'll come good ;-)
