Multiplex PC-6 Pilatus Porter

This looks promising!

MULTIPLEX Pilatus PC-6 [english] (2 min 14 sec)

Multiplex site details /// Seems to be RR (receiver ready) only at this point

I mailed HitecUSA to see when it is suposed to be released (update: Hitec responded: "I will know in 2 weeks the ETA. It will be shortly after it’s available for Europe.")

Yes, promising indeed and added to my "wait and see" list.
Difficult to fully judge from the video but gear attachment looks a bit "toyish" along with a few other details.

Would also hope to see the model offered as a kit as I prefer to do my own fitting out.

Thought the video really inappropriate though given that this is a model of what is essentially a STOL aircraft. Would have liked to have seen some low, slow flying.

Steve.

Steve.
I think they are aiming it to be another "Fun Cub" although the tail gear looks very scale.

Cheers,
Steve

Wish they'd release a Sherpa, not quite so ugly as this. I still want it.

I like it,but from the side pic of the fuselage,I can't figure out how one would access the battery.Any speculation?

Looks like the hatch is in the nose, right in front of the front windscreen. I have attached a 400% picture of the front where you can see the hatch outline

Totally agree with this. To turn a STOL plane into a fast sport aerobatic machine is ludicrous. Scale? Hardly!

From their ad:
Quote:
"Our Pilatus PC-6 has large control surfaces, ample power and beautifully balanced handling in the air, with the result that it is perfectly capable of vertical climbs, aerobatic manoeuvres including knife-edge passes, and even torque rolls!"
Totally ridiculous.

Correct, the Hatch is in the nose, in front of the Windscreen. Very easy access.

It does appear the BNF type planes are getting more interesting

This is very close to what I was hoping Multiplex would release, 55-60" wingspan and 3200 lipos would have been perfect. And finally, someone puts flaps on a smaller Porter.

I agree the flying in the video is ridiculous but hopefully it can be flown in a bit more scale manner. Also hope 3200 lipos can fit in that fuselage as 2200's aren't in my inventory. Other than that, anxiously awaiting more info and news of a kit version like the Fun Cub.

Subscribed. This little piggy's been on my wish list for years! Motor mount looks interesting, can't wait to have a closer look! With so many colorful civil & military schemes, this will make a great canvas for folk's to show their talents! Hope this isn't premature!

I could spend weeks contemplating a paint scheme, right now building a 1/48 plastic model of an Air America bird. Those were Allison powered so the nose was a little different and only one large exhaust but that's an opportunity to make something a little different with this one.
