Turn your V912 into a military grade smoke grenade...first..replace tail motor and extend wires a bit for easy reinstall,do NOT use shrink tube laying next to 912,put it all back together and place on tupperware heli pad in living room...turn 912 on and power up! Ok,it worked for a second then quit,so of course without checking to see if anything is wrongpower up again, this time a bit of smoke starts coming from new motor just put in,now before I can shut off radio and grab 912..(never..and I mean NEVER grab a metal boom when smoke is rolling from heli so bad smoke alarm is going crazy)you wont forget the smell of burning wires and flesh..the room filled with smoke so fast I was amazed!!! I was able to unplug battery while holding 912 with pot holder and set in a safe place to uh "cool down" while I checked to see what happened...ALWAYS use shrink tubing, tape or whatever on exposed wires..I knew better but it was getting dark and wanted to get some stick time in...once the smoke cleared and I could FIND the 912 it was easy to see the extended wires touched just enough to short out the 912,believe it or not it still powers up,servos work, motor works,I can see how but I guess the heli Gods smiled on me..this was 2 days ago and it still smells like burnt wires in here(girlfriend NOT happy)moral of this story? Dont take shortcuts when working on these helis..had this been a 450 or bigger and got airborn??? who knows...trust me that wont happen again..
