About the "head" for $1 at BG that was only the blade holders right? not the complete head ass.?

I've done some tests to, one worked and one didn't :P

This one didn't...
The 1$ part at BG is the whole thing. Read a few pages back.

Just hovered a 3 bladed fbl 450 with no 3x. WOW!
Is still in one piece, but to say response is instant would be an understatement.
After that I flew the dh and fling it around in the air. Solid constant ff.

Yeah. I was doing some dives and pulling out at the last second.
I also did some dead falls. But as it was falling, it got blown through a tree and broke the dd tail blade. Oh well.
Guess I can't sell it yet :-)

and show the tail response.

Back in 10 minutes

This should be wicked

Uploading now. The shaft makes it a little shaky, and I need to balance it
better, both the head and the airframe.

I'm not going to bother until the new shaft arrives, otherwise I would
have to do it all over again after installing it.

The tail response is stupid fast, but I already knew that.
This may be the fastest rudder some of you have ever seen.

It's even faster in the air, but it's not quite ready for full flight.
The top shaft should be here in 3 days., and then it should be more
stable than my "good" 9116, as the head speed will be higher.

This is a good thing, as the higher the head speed, the faster the
maximum forward flight speed.

This motor has the capability to make the 9116 head explode
and I will not be able to use all of the power of the 4500KV motor,
but I can probably get to 150% of the stock head speed if the head
is perfectly balanced.

I already used this messed up shaft in my 9116 and it flew the
same way, and it flew awesome after replacing it, so this baby
is in the same boat. Dang, that means I need 2 of them, and I
only ordered one...

That's pretty cool. I keep thinking of doing that to mine. It'll be like having two birds in one if I can find a FP 4channel head that could easily swap out. I've got sort of the same power setup with a 4800kv/15t on 2S.

Still waiting on my parts from the other side of the world for my 9100/9116/9104 mixed heli but I figured out the bad tail wag I had. Although the tail motor is gone, just couldn't keep up with the head. Disconnected the main motor and tested the tail and it still had that nasty tail wag, sometimes it would just snap in to full throttle and stay there longer than it should. I unsoldered the gyro and stole one from the dead mosfet fried board and resoldered that one back in. Fixed the tail wag.

Balanced an extra flybar I had as one of the weights was way off and not the equal length as the other side, 3.5mm off. A torch to melt the epoxy to turn the weight a few turns before it hardened back up fixed that.

Now i'm waiting for the DD parts from the other side of the world. At least I got the 250GT to build.

Steve,
The response is super quick.
We need to see a video of it when it's outside in the wild blue yonder.

You may have to tame it down a tad.
Remember that fence is waiting.

Just a little feedback.
As for servos?
I never mix digital with analogue.
They will cause interference & most probably start glitching.
We had a yachtie chap that ran a 29 MHz, Tx/Rx, a digital winch & a standard analogue rudder servo.
The rudder twitched very badly until a digital TX & Rx was installed.

For Nicke...
That's strange because I don't have any probs with my bull horned flybar.
I only bent them enough to clear the canopy + a bit.

& a bit of fibre glass tape or similar will help protect the canopy.

"Electronics"?
Still a strange beast to me too, Steve.
To finish the yacht story... The analogue Rx did not have the correct filtering to inhibit the digital
signal.
The new digital Rx did.
