Pretty cool! Has 20" wingspan and not too expensive. They seem to be made of EPP since they show the wing of the Skyranger (cessna) being flexed by hand. Great Find!

Saw one today at the LHS. They have no idea what motor is in it.

The wings can flex an amazing amount w/o breaking.

There is a high-wing trainer type, too.

It looked like the linear servos did not use a linear wiper for feedback, looked like a pot (or one of those magnetic doodads) connected by an arm to the traveling nut.

The snap-on prop mechanism is exactly the same as well:

The NE Xtra 300 flies great! But may need just a little bit more power, I like it as it comes out of the box.
Many users claim that the high wing Cessna is too heavy as it has a smaller wing area, I haven´t tried it.

Also, the snap-off/on prop collars are VERY prone to damage. Easy to bend a motor shaft too...

I figured a for-sure in-person confirmation would be appreciated, esp. given your short comment- belt-n-suspenders.

(heh heh, he said cox box)

Any info on the motor specs compared to a p51/t28 or champ micro?

I imagine it spins slower with more torque, with same or a bit less power.

Got mine today

I received my Cox 300 Extra today. It's moded EPP with painted trim and it looks very nice. It's quite a bit larger than the Horizon planes and weights 3+ ounces. The motor seems to put out quite a bit of power. The receiver and aileron servo looks similar to the parkzone radios, but the servos are hooked to pots. It must have a better esc too because the battery pack is a 2 s 250 and it must be sucking a few amps.

Flying report: The wind was 15 to 30, so I only got a few test hops. It shows great potential..except for possible tip stalls when flying a bit too slow. (duh!). I may be able to warp a little washout in the wings.

The prop pops off every time it gets near a blade of grass, but I guess that's OK. There's plenty of room for the battery, but the trap door is a bit small and you have to hold your mouth just right to get it in. This will probably be good in the winter as the battery is protected from the cooooooooooooooold, and should be able to fly longer.

All in all, it's a keeper. I think Nine Eagles has a warplane and another aeobatic plane coming out, so maybe Cox will import them. The Cox website says, they have some new planes coming!
