Any mylar super slow flight kits out there?

Seems like most of the stuff is overseas or scratch built. Is there anyone offering mylar kits? I have a big indoor arena I fly at once a week, and I would really love to get one of these super slow flying mylar F3P airplanes. The ones build from carbon rods or a foam skeleton with mylar look pretty awesome.. But I'm not sure where to start!

Anyone know of some good kits out there? Or want to sell me theirs?!

Thanks!

I'm also interested in building a mylar F3P plane. Sounds pretty sweet. Have you looked at the Night Vapor?

I think the Spies kit, being a two year old design, will build out a lot heavier than the Elanor

There are lots of kit built Elanors at the W/C (including mine), but I think the only Spies I have seen was a full carbon one.

OT, but virtually all models in the contest are using contra systems. I can only recall seeing three or four models that were not contra

Yeah I know, but for most people's budget and skill, a Spies is a perfect solution.

Is Gernot selling Trivias?

I know you can buy them, one of our guys has one.
They are made for him by Alan who makes the Elanor kits, very similar construction.

You can buy any good foam kit and cut away foam then cover with
Mylar. Then you need to equip it with light weight gear. It's more fun to do it yourself and it's not very hard. The USA team is flying the Anubis from fancy foam
With most of the foam cut away.

The team's Anubis' are not the same as the fancy foam ones....they are like V6 while fancy foam has the V3 or something like that.

But yes, the FF Anubis is a quite good kit, just not the same that the US team is flying.

I know Donatas and Alexey Lantsov are making kits for their carbon tube/mylar airplane, but it's like 500 euro.

I suspect that the kit comes with carbon rods which the team has replaced with tubes. That's at least one of the lightening modifications which the team has made.

Well yes the construction is different, but it is the actually design that has changed too. Don't kid yourself, they won't release the same plane they are flying, they always release the model they were flying a couple of seasons ago(still a good model, just not current)

You can mylar any plane. I would buy a milled kit and cut out the pockets you want to mylar. Its not hard applying the mylar. Takes 10 minutes.

I get my mylar from Homefly.com

Lay the mylar flat, and tape it at the corners so there are no wrinkles. (do not stretch)
Lightly spray the foam piece on one side with a spray adhesive. (3m 77)
Lay the foam on the mylar and gently press the foam by hand.
Cut away the excess mylar.

Then you have a mylar plane.

Jamie, what would the weight savings be on an Epic by doing what you describe?

If you will manage to get Elanor2015 -it will be the same like Alan G flies himself - not some last season version or older
