GoPro

Hello,

I am helping prepare for a conference later this week where my boss wants to attach a GoPro to a remote blimp, helicopter or multiroter and relay the footage to the audience during the presentation.

We are not so worried about stability or quality of the footage...just a vehicle (we are willing to pay up to $500) that can support the weight of the GoPro.

Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time!

You'll definitely want a multirotor.

The DJI Phantom comes to mind but it's a bit pricey.

I'm sure someone will chime in with specifics.

Hey!

Thank you for your response.
The DJI Phantom could do the trick...but it would be a lot of money to spend for just one presentation.

I figured as much; my knowledge of multirotors is a bit limited, though.

My only other suggestion would be to post in the multirotor forum (which it seems you already have) or in the Aerial Photography section.

Unless you have experience with helis or multirotors, the Phantom is your best bet. Otherwise you are likely to miss your conference. You will never get another one delivered and setup in time.

I don't know where you are located, but your best bet may be to ask for somebody who does that sort of thing. If you can't fly, the potential risks are much to high. Nothing like blades coming at you, at a few thousand rpm, to add some excitement to any conference. Is this indoors or outdoors and how high would you be shooting from?

Sorry man, you can build a quad for $200. But flying in third person isn't something you can learn in a few days (It takes two weeks just for parts to arrive). You have to look for a pilot, and if you find one that can fly it, it probably means he already has something that can do it, and has likely already rebuilt it several times over.
