Pilatus PC-6

Hi all. Had to have one of these. Set up so far, power110/castle ecs100A/BECpro20. Flight power rxbattery 2000lipo, & 8s 4000m. 7-HT hs5645mg. Hopefully near or better than unlimited above 7k. Stand off 44mm, with no washer on the firewall, 2mm backplate clearance. Tru turn Ultimate 3.5" custom cut lightened backplate w/12mm shaft, and 1-1/2" CNC Ultimate prop adaptor. You could go for the 160 but , it's an STOL, the 110 will be hard enough to CG.

The landing gear looks sweet on that bird. Is that factory?

It is , Bipe. wheels with the ARF are light, bit small for high grass. Added the 6" tundra wheels. The gear is fragile, hoping the big wheels will help.

Motor mount 44mm stand off

43mm stand offs, Giving 1mm washer space, 2mm back plate clearance. Each model may differ down to the mm.

A few avionics for the fuze. Tow hitch

If you mount the tail gear too low, there's a seem, screws having less bite. If you want higher tail gear, have the top Colette in the center of the mount, wire going up flush to the mount top.

looking at the stress points on the landing gear, like the idea of larger carbon fiber washer on the top of the shocks; posted in another thread I think it's ok though, STOL,s are kittens on the runway. All I added a was cushioned fuze washer here, same dia. As original

This model has some scale potential, more advanced than most ARF's, possibly fragile in a few places. finding tail gear assembly would help, for now ill use the stock.

possible solution for landing gear. Transfer stress back to the bulk head above the gear mount plate. A paper thin aluminum tube shaped as support strut. This was a quick mock up, may use the idea.

I think all I would do is install a 1/8 aircraft ply a couple of inches long centred under the steel cross brace and epoxied into the vertical former. That woulddistribute the load into the thick former and boost the brace strength, fwiw Doug B
