Hurricane Setup Summary
With the price reduction on the Hurricane, I thought I would collect my setup for folks just starting out. I have attached a document of all the settings, dual rates, and tips that helped me. Many of them come from this thread.

I walked into my local HobbyTown with 300 bucks in my pocket after having sold a nitro truggy, my last RC car. I walked out of the store with the E-Flight Hawker Hurricane for the princely sum of..........................$109.00. I couldn't believe it. They had two and when the guy in back of me in the cashier line heard that he bought the other one on the spot. I have her built and ready to maiden. It is just an AWESOME looking plane.

Those of you flying the Hurricane with E-Flite retracts and Spektrum, are you adding an external BEC?
Mine is ready to go, but I don't have any more Castle BECs at home. Trying to decide whether to fly it or wait until I get a BEC. I'm paranoid the E-Flite 60amp ESC might not be able to handle flaps and retracts. |

... the stock Hurri set up can handle addition of the flaps with the E-flite retracts. Some folk insist on fitting BEC's by default; certainly does no harm.

RE: hot ESC- in talking to some of the guys I fly w/ I'm now thinking ill just add a UBEC, they think that and adding more ventilation should keep it cool. I'm looking at 1)closing off (partially first, then test) the back half of the radiator. *I will be adding a screen to the front of the rad to keep out dirt, as I fly off dirt fields. 2) adding a gap on either side of ESC (maybe doing the straw idea to it). 3) opening up exhaust stacks and venting to reduce internal fuse pressure. |
