I'd love to see it in yellow, in case that wasn't clear.

Now that I think about it I could put the ICE 100 back in and run 7 or 8s just to get the RPM correct and simulate it. If you do the math you can probably get the plane to be in the 9lb range with the DLE-20. My Mintor put out at best 15lbs of thrust so you can 3D it. I had a Velox which was 9.1 lbs on the Mintor and it was OK for power. I think it is very doable, but the results are going to be taste specific.
let me know because i have all the stuff and im thinking about it

I hope the Red/Blue/White one on the prototype and the 48" is the other. That is just a gorgeous scheme. I got the 48" just for the scheme!

One of my flying buddies has a 20cc and a 30cc and side by side, the 30 only pulls 3 more pounds than the 20 at WOT... I think it was 15 compared to 18. The only thing I worry about is the throttle curve on the small gas DLE's. Starts off very shallow, like a 2-stroke glow engine. On the other hand, the bigger engine, or the electric motor for that matter, swinging the bigger prop, will give you a much more consistent thrust to throttle curve.

The other problem is that a 20x10 prop at 2440W will pull about 17.5 pounds and an 18x10 prop at 2440W will pull only 16.5 pounds even though the RPMs are higher. So although the power-to-power ratio is even, the thrust ratio will be disappointing at most throttle setting until you get up around WOT.

maybe because it took so much RPM to hover I liked the Velox better that Slick with a OS GT33. The 20cc will be light and will slow down better. Probably tumble better with the smaller prop disk.

Could be. But you can't compare either to the GT33. We had one at the field on a AW Extra, like 74 inches and 10.5 pounds, and Tom got to fly it. About as much power as you could get and still balance the plane properly. He said it was as much fun as he ever had in an AW plane at least. That's the motor I'd go to in the 30 size after seeing that.
