Fearless One F&F Combat Model

I live down here in muncie and have come up with a different looking F&F model I call the Fearless One. My work schedule and kids activities have unfortunately kept me from combating with our local group, but my son and I have had some serious combat in the farm field behind our house. I have had these cut out of Fan Fold foam on a CNC router have a few if anyone is interested. I get (2) a sheet and sell them for $18 a sheet plus shipping. Model is tab and slot for accurate building.

I've built two of these, nice kit and well worth the price, particularly since you don't have to buy and store a boatload of foam somewhere. It's my favorite combat plane. There's some info in my blog.

Very nice bird.

We have been flying a very similar design called a Cobra in all classes of combat here in Texas for several years and it is awesome. It is one of the many excellent designs by Lee Liddle.

Good job on the build.

Thanks guys on the comments. I went up and flew with my Dad and Brother last Thanksgiving with these. We flew at least a dozen rounds and we had a blast. Dad spanked us as we were concentrating on each other and he would just swoop in on the sneak attack and clean house. We had (3) different color streamers, so we flew most cuts wins. There was crepe paper all over that park those couple of days.

I loved to watch CL combat when I was growing up and these were made to look like some of the FAI jobs I really liked. They really fly well. I bought a couple of HC 2.4 6C radios last year and that has made a total inexpensive package that I pretty much flew everyday after work. I wore out my (12) 1300 2S packs.

I fly with the APC 8 x 6 SF as it seems to offer the best speed. I tried the APC 9 x 6 and it has a bit better vertical, but less speed and pulls so much current that maybe only 3 minute rounds are possible. The 8 x 6 makes it the full 5 minutes with no issues. I don't like the GWS buzz props as they aren't stiff enough. They do work, but there is no surprise attack with those.

Here is Azarr's build log of his Fearless One. I have (5) sheets/(10) airfames left in stock if anyone is interested. Been raining here for the last few days so no flying here. I have yet to fly this year due to the real winter we had this year. Looking forward to a good flying season. Hoping to make it to the first Muncie group combat meet in April.

I use the same as the Muncie Group uses the TowerPro 2408-21T motor/esc/prop combo from Hobby City. I use either Zippy or Flightmax 20C 2S 1300's. I prefer to use the 8 x 6 APC SF prop as it has been the fastest to me. I have also used the 9 x 6 APC SF and GWS 9 x 7. The APC 9 x 6 uses a lot of power and the GWS 9 x 7 is a buzz prop at high speeds. 8 x 6 really works great.

I also fly the same motor/esc on 3S 1100's using a 7 x 5 GWS DD prop. It is really fast!! Makes it a lot of fun that way.
