Test flight went well ........It flies like my old Kwik Fli , smooth and like on rails
but boring compared to the way we fly today: but still fun . Next on the table is
a reproduction Taurus (fuse built) . Just a sucker for old shcool pattern

Chris,

the New Era was an entire series - started small and grew. There was even a 40 size model if memory serves.

The plans show a Veco .19 . It hauls with the .32 but heavier
(i painted fuse with auto urethane ).

And yes there was a .40 New Era too. The Kit was really cut good
and has REAL plywood lol.

My Dad built one back in the day. Originally had a Cox Conquest 15 (Rear exhaust ABC- remeber these?), but it was way underpowered. That one was switched out with an HB .25. Then it moved along pretty well. Those Airtronics kits were high quality.

This is what happens when you have nothing better to do but play with old kits

I removed the black paint and monokoted on some Batman signs .

I asked Pee Wee what he thought about R/C model aviation but he said : _________________? I am an old crazy geezer talking to a puppet . I
swear I thought he said go electric ?? No way , NITRO BABY !!!

Update on New Era

Yesterday was beautiful......it was a perfect day to crash a kit built airplane.
the stupid part was I didn't follow through with a big red flag warning . On
low rates the elevator was just a few degrees down and high rates was
were much more .......took off on low rates ! DOH !!
