Has anybody bungee launched this bad boy?

I shall be trying to do so on Sunday as our patch is just too small for me to get it off the ground.

Any experiences or advice (good or bad) most welcome.

Andy

First battle scar
Was dog fighting with another Su-35. We had a close call in the air, but I realized the planes had actually touched, only after we landed and saw the marks
It was a lot of fun though

Sorry, no one was recording. We may do this again some day. The other pilot is scared of flying with me at the moment haha
First time I scared him by getting too close. The second time we actually collided (hence the battle scar). Ironically he crashed his brand new Su-35 a few days later flying alone, too low and experimenting. So now after spending another $300, he will probably be extra careful.
I am not scared. I guess I am a crazy Russian pilot after all
I am sure he will fly his Su-34 with me, but that's not really a match. My Su-35 will fly loops around it

We actually put good 5 flights at least, dog fighting. It was a blast. But the guys at the club (spectators) said it was inevitable that we would collide eventually the way we flew. Everyone got up to watch us fly though.

Same here.... the Turnigy blue has worked out better for me... not sure why... I treat my batteries the same (pamper them). The blue have outlasted the Nano's - the 3s and the 6s ones.

hehe, yeah Nano are crap..... they only last if you use them to LOW levels, and even then they can fail randomly at any time - a higher percentage than other brands. Almost always one cell flops, but sometimes a more overall sudden/rapid death/degradation and they puff even though you didn't truly stress them much at all.
The same for the Nano A-Spec G2's
Both are using low grade, B-grade, and/or mixing in flakey cells with others, and/or poor QC.

A-Spec G1's were the only good Nano's they ever had/have..... those are very good batteries.

BUT for the same cost you can get Revolectrix, which are very good batteries too.
Note the "Nano" part means nothing - it is just naming hype.

I have/had towards 100 Nano's over the years - because they are 'cheap' via HK Aust, and I didn't recognise their shortfalls seeing I had no other references. Any other brands here cost a lot more. But as they fell aside one after another, it became apparent - though I still had no real references on whether any others would be any better, and to try others means OS shipping and much higher costs. Plus there were the Nano 25C, 35C, 45C, 65C to try all the various forms of.... so it took a long time to really know how such a wide range, and needing lots to compare, would end up. I would be a "HK Nano specialist"!! I bet no one else has a fraction of as many as I have/had!
The 25C and 35C are like they are the 'rejects' of the bad bunch - from the 45C and 65C. Probably made from the cells that failed 45C or 65C IR tests.
The 65C don't seem to be any better than the 45C really.... both will drive setups to the same results and both cope with the loads the same, it seems. Both can suddenly fail in the same setup (plane) used the same 'non-excessive' way too. Maybe the 65C are technically better IR but you just don't see the difference in real world use. Maybe the 45C are 'failed the test' 65C cells.

I even still bought some just a few months back!! KNOWING how dubious they are, but I have moved (for ages now) to using high cell counts at lower Amps, to make batteries last better. Mostly Sub 100Amps... way under even.... 50... 60... 80A ....
And then even one battery of the last 4 sets (4S 4400mAH 45C's and 65c's) dropped a cell after three flights! Of the relatively low Amp use!
Also note the HK "warranty" is 30days from when you get them, and you quite often won't even use them for a fair while, and then it takes X weekends before one fails.... so the 4 weeks is gone by then anyway! 30days is almost as good as NO warranty really.....
So that is that.... I will not buy any Nano again.....

I got a bunch of Revo's and so far those have been fine..... time will tell.....
They come down at 'ambient' temps, like the Nano's do anyway, but it needs time to tell if any Revo's will ever "die in the blink of an eye, for no valid reason" like Nano's can.
It just so happens that their landed cost from Singapore is close to dead equal to HK AustWH Nano's delivered anyway! They even are faster from order to the door!

Is there a consensus on what the best performing brand of lipos may be?

I hear good things about Gensace, but have never tried them.
