Argh

So I just spent the better part of 9 hours taking out the servos on my AMR. Turns out that I had a bit too much CA in the elevator and rudder servo mounting bits and I had stuck the servos in. After about 6 hours of patience with debonder, acetone, dental floss and a knife, I finally got the rudder servo out without damaging the wood.

The elevator servo, however...

Any tips for repair? I have an idea of what I want to do (cut out some 2mm birch ply, jigsaw puzzle the tab back, glue the ply and the tab with epoxy, iron extra covering film I have in my bag on), but I thought I'd poll the balsa builders. I'm relatively new to balsa.

Right now I'm just waiting for all the stuff that soaked in the balsa to evaporate.

Use some hemostats and epoxy, I would likely cut some new wood (possibly even from a popsicle stick) and make a sure mount. Use the hemostats to install the wood through the air vent; and soak it up in epoxy.

It is probably not the "best" method; but should be plenty strong and should not take much of your time...

rayonnair - there is always the option of moving the elevator to the other side and avoid the whole problem if you prefer (if it's too much of a pain). New control horn would be needed. The existing problem can just be lightly patch up with popsicle sticks or other balsa wood and you won't have to worry about making it strong enough to accommodate the servo.

+1 that is absolutely your cleanest and quickest option for getting back in the air.

After a long break from building this fabulous model due to illness I am back on the build today. However shock horror the annual is missing. I thought easy to sort by going to precision aerobatics website and get a PDF download. SHOCKED no download available and nothing anywhere on the Internet. I have written to PA with no answer. Please does someone have a copy of the manual in PDF the can either sell me or send me out of kindness.
