Yes my flying venue is beautiful. On a good day I can easily see Santa Catalina Island with St Clemente Island in the West and the ski resorts of Big Bear and San Bernadino in the East. All around Laguna, especially to the North is wilderness with coyotes, road runners, bobcats and the occasional mountain lion (so I'm told). The hawks riding the wind around the hilltops don't take any interest in my planes. My spot is the water tank for Laguna, a bit of a round topped hill which doesn't give me much updraft for soaring, I have to go further South for that. Landing can be tricky on a windy day as there is a definite downdraft on the lee side.

I believe the man who founded BRC Hobbies in England flew an electric model accross the English Channel about 8 years ago. He's an interesting guy. If my memory's right, he's in a wheelchair after a motor bike accident earlier than that. The channel to Catalina is further, about 26 miles I think.

Tesla and others have done a lot of research on battery technology, particularly with graphene, which my son tells me will be the miracle material for the future of all sorts of things from jet engines to very tall structures.

I'm always interested to find out more.

Yes Brian , Collins ? is the guy from the NE who flew the channel and yes he did it from an open boat and his chair.
It sounds/looks fantastic ............. closer to http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=955809 there's a lovely south African lady a girlfriend of one of my musician mates localy shes an expert on graphene her Doctorate subject. Just taken a job in Brazil.... so there's a bit of concern about that at the moment given the Mossi problem and Im not talking planes.

That AW6B does look nice. Not sure about the landing gear/prop clearance arrangements though!

That's really nice. And I can see I'm not the only one who felt an urge to build it...

Good catch on the rotation issue, but it's "AUTO-STABLE", you know

The Ambrosini is a wonderful airplane.
A bit noisy with the propeller cutting the air right behind the trailing edge.
But the bird is fast, incredibly stable and a pleasure to observe flying.
Despite being very small the canard is working well with its slut falp.
If combined with elevons there is plenty of manouverability.
It is worth to be built.

Mine died due to the only RC failure ever in my career as a modeler .

X plane canard V bomber..............a cunning plan?

Thinking X craft ............. How about taking a HP Victor and swapping the wings aft and adding Canards forward. I think it would look even more striking than the original and that wing was designed to give stability over a wide speed range. you might have to loose the high T Tail but the look would be super cool ....whose good at playing with £ views http://www.pssaonline.co.uk/gallery-...Collection.htm canards as well http://www.pssaonline.co.uk/main-pag...%20gallery.htm
