Covering Layout

One 10 m roll will do it. Attached is the covering layout for the 1/3 scale Cherokee II (not the RM). Should be almost identical...just ensure wing pieces are long enough. Mind you, the wing chord is a little less on the RM, so the wing pieces should nest quite nicely on your Solartex width. Note there are two turtledecks....that extra turtledeck is all the excess you have, so be careful! Looks like two wing stubs are missing, so that will come out of turtledeck #2

That is NICE. Call me a woodie junkie, but I could stare at that structure all day long. Looks like art to me! I hear angels singing...

Well solartex is sold in either 2m or 5m rolls in Australia so I will see if I can rearrange Dave's layout to fit the 5m rolls.

Thanks
Mark

If you're mail ordering the solartex, suggest you get two 5m rolls and a 2m roll. Guarantee you'll screw up a piece and need more than you think. I've got 3x10m rolls waiting for me to start covering...Reason for so much is I couldn't decide on covering scheme I wanted to do at time I ordered covering. I'll have enough for the next couple of models

It's done. 1/3 scale Cherokee RM. Waiting for registration numbers to arrive so I can put them on, but it's flight worthy as it sits. Fact there is still two feet of snow on the ground is going to delay first flight until May 😕

Jeff,

Great job. It's a beauty! I look forward to a report on your maiden outing. Hope you get some good flying conditions soon.

Good work Jeff.

I'm still plugging away.

The first of the wings is under way, finishing the spars took a little while.

Cheers
Mark
